『#Restart2020』／ Xinshixiang新世相
「#Restart2020」という、2020年に新型コロナウィルスが流行らなかったパラレルワールドを描くというプロジェクトに参加しました。世界20カ国以上のイラストレーターの作品を使い、ショートフィルムを制作するという内容です。僕は日本代表として、新型コロナウィルスで亡くなった志村けんさんが、聖火ランナーとして出身地の東村山の街頭に立つ絵を描きました。以下、ショートフィルムで流れたナレーションと日本語訳です。
Ken Shimura, Japanese actor and comedian, who has been active on screen for more than 48 years died of coronavirus this year.With Tokyo Olympic on his doorstep, Ken volunteered to be a torchbearer and was orginally going to bear the torch through Higashimurayama, his home town, in the western part of Tokyo Metropolis. Since thenTokyo Olympics has been postponed and his life has been taken away by the pandemic.He once said: "I would like to try harder as long as I'm smiling."
今年の3月29日、お笑い芸人の志村けんさんが新型コロナウイルスに感染し、惜しまれつつこの世を去りました。志村さんは7月に出身地である東村山を代表して、聖火リレーを走る予定でした。かつて志村さんは、身体が動くうちはずっとこういうお笑いの仕事をやっていきたいと口にしていました。人生とは、終わりなき成長の旅です。
